Welcome to the official site of the IDRS 2021 50th Anniversary Conference 

The hosts, Yoshi Ishikawa and Peter Cooper, extend their invitation to the world-wide community of double reed artists, pedagogues, students and industries to attend the 50th anniversary conference of the International Double Reed Society in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, USA. Please enjoy the introductory video clips of the city of Boulder; the host institution, the University of Colorado Boulder; College of Music; and the beautiful state of Colorado! The portal for submission of proposals to participate in the IDRS 2021 conference will open on August 1, 2020.

 IDRS 50th Anniversary Conference

World-class artists and pedagogues from the around the globe will assemble in Boulder to present 5-days of performances, masterclasses, and lectures. Two international bassoon and oboe competitions will be conducted. Events will be held in the Imig Music Building’s new 57 million dollar 64,000-square foot addition (open fall 2020), the historic 2000 seat Macky Auditorium, and the University Memorrial Center’s 10,000-square foot exhibit hall. Vrtually all major bassoon and oboe makers from the US, Europe and Asia will exhibit their instruments and make them available for trial. Moreover, one-of-a-kind specialty reed tools, reed cane, and every imaginable double reed gadget made by master craftsman from the US, Europe and Asia will be on display. Extensivive repertoire for double reed instruments will also be availalbe.
